I’m not overly set on sticking to a day-by-day plan, but I think I told myself not to long ago that I would try and get out on a bike at least three days a week in the coming months. In saying this I’m really meaning at least three rides involving some exertion like a road bike ride or a mountain bike ride, not commuting etc. Additionally, I guess I was also thinking of a minimally acceptable weekly distance, which is at the moment about 100km.

Today’s ride brought my distance total for this week to about 135km. Granted this was only two rides instead of three like I had sort of planned, but at this point I think that’s OK. A sign of strength on the bike that I have noted in the past was my ability to do back-to-back days, or even multiple consecutive days, without feeling the day before to any great extent. This sign of strength/fitness is definitely lacking at the moment, but I know if I keep working at this consistently with gradual increases in distance and pinch of hard efforts later on, I’ll be better able to enjoy my time on the bike. Note to self – it would be nice to have a similar progression with my running.

Oh yeah, no rain on the ride today :) , only slightly wet roads.

Seasonal wetness as viewed from Martindale Road. There is a bluish warehouse type thing on the right hand side, which is Michell's Farm veggie purchasing spot.

A little backroad to the east of the Pat Bay Highway near Mt. Newton Cross Road. I think I spotted some deer, moose, or cow skeletons that looked like they had been dumped just off the side of the road.

Back downtown on Dallas Road looking across the water to Washington State and the Olympic Mountains. The mountains look nice on clear days, but they're pretty good on some cloudy days as well.
