Michelle and I spent the evening downtown… no not out on the town, just around downtown. We started things out with some Asian inspired food from Foo; I had Laksa i.e. Halibut (I think) with yellow curry sauce and rice, and Michelle had some sort of carmelized ginger chicken with bok choy and rice. Following the food it was movie time… Dinner for Schmucks with Steve Carrell… funny in a good way by my standards. Finally, something triggered some memories of reading about kinetic photography – long shutter and lots of camera movement – so I decided to give it a whirl, literally.

I guess I'm officially an Apple bitch now, but you won't find me lining up for new crap like the hardcores do anytime soon.

Kinetic photo attempt #1 on Yates Street near the Capitol 6 theatre. I knew there was a reason for the strap on my camera - it's for swinging it around.

Kinetic photo #2. This one and the first one were way too bright to begin with and the Photoshop adjustments are not totally helpful, but I think it's still kind of cool.

Kinetic photo #3. Less ambient light seems like a good idea for these sorts of photos. Need to work on focusing on a point light source though before the swinging commences.

Kinetic photo #4. Not quite the same as the others... we were driving. Can you tell the windshield in the car was rather dirty?

Kinetic photo #6. King George Terrace. I think the bluish streaks are Mercedes (not mine) HID headlights.

These photos are great! You are going to have to explain to me how to do this. My favorite is photo 6.
Badass!!! I’m inclined to agree with Bruce. 2, 6, and 7 are fantastic. Flickr em G. I know there’s more to that account than a camper van dump tank buddy icon.
Why don’t you have Michelle video tape you when you are doing this? You should have audio too!
